Funding increase for child care educators

RPL assessment grants have increased by 47%

The Australian Government’s Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations has announced increased grants for early childhood educators under the Recognition of Prior Learning Initiative.

The funding provides up to $3500 to eligible educators to assist with the costs of undergoing a Recognition of Prior Learning assessment.

Director of Nans Child Care Centre Sandy Muscat says RPL assessments are crucial for a Certificate III, Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Children’s Services.

“These qualifications are now compulsory under the new National Quality Framework so it’s great these grants are offered,” Ms Muscat said.
